Frigg
Frigg is an Aesir goddess, Wodan’s wife and Balder is their son. She owns her own hall in Asgard called Fensalir. Actually, Frigg and Wodan are a harmonizing couple but they are far away from being in complete agreement and they have a favour to support opposing sides in human conflicts. The borders between Frigg and Freyja blur and some attributes like sexuality and love have been transferred over the centuries from Frigg to the younger and more seductive Freyja and Frigg changed to a more domestic goddess. She is the protector of wifes, and people preached to her for domestic and familiar harmony. Nevertheless, her impulsivity disrupts her own quietude with Wodan sometimes and her emotionality is a crucial test for their marriage. Besides, she is almost omniscient and more prudent than all of the other gods, excerpt for the Norns. Although she is so clever, she doesn’t allow anyone to benefit from her knowledge in general but sometimes she nudges someone in the right direction. Frigg has her big performance in the stories about her son Balder where she comes to the bitter awareness that even the influence of the most powerful female Aesir is limited.
